I guess you recognized what the concept was, right?

Sadly, Grantland was shut down last year, but I knew that there’s something more awesome things will be happen!! And it became a true because Bill Simmons made a huge site ‘The Ringer‘ !

Juliet Litman and I have worked together since June 2012, and can’t forget the first piece I did for her in a VERY short time, but the longest script I had with her. Since then, she became one of my favorite AD (Actually, she’s an editor) to work with!

And last week, I heard from Juliet again for illustrating TV-related coverage everyday for a week! I don’t know you feel it, but I couldn’t have enjoyed working on them more.

Also, thanks a lot to AD David Shoemaker for the awesome directions & Donnie Kwak whose writings made me feel like there’s no boundaries between Korea and America, especially I really enjoyed reading about director Hong Sang-su and Soju! (Maybe right now, wrong then too.)

Anyways, hope to work with them again, and there’s one more thing I’d like to show you!

See you in the next post,

J

Military Officer Association of America

Hi Jorge

How’s your June so far?… Mine is pretty good, and I’m going to see you in NYC in a week!

Gotta start to pack my bag (and mind) , and I got some gifts for you!

Here’s my third post of this month that I worked for MOAA ( Military Officer Association of America) ‘s June issue!

I love their layout designs and thanks a lot to AD Candice!

I’m thinking of applying my illustration color palettes to my nail and pedi colors! 🙂

Hope you like it and see you real soon,

J

The New York Times Your Money

Dear Jorge

How are you? March has only few days left, and these days I really miss New York! (Especially THE greek yogurt -forgot the name- from Whole Foods!) It has always happened since I’ve divided my time between Eastern and Western countries, so I know it’s NATURAL! so it’s OK.

One thing that I like being in Eastern country and working for Western countries, I felt like always having one bonus day for the deadlines! And my Monday is still Sunday!! (My real week started on Tuesdays) So never rush for it, but have to wake up whenever my phone rang while I was sleepin. – sometimes I was in deep sleeeeeppppp….. 😦

So here’s my latest portrait project for the New York Times Your Money section, working with amazing AD Shannon!

Portraits are always easy and enjoyable, and aren’t they pretty likable? no?…. Yes?….:)

Hopefully you enjoy the flattering colors!

The other portrait project I did with them at the same time will be out in May. I’ll keep working hard until then!

See you soon Jorge! Happy Easter as well!

Best,

J

Here’s my first magazine publication of 2014 for Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin in Germany. I drew six German celebrities’ portraits among 45. I’m glad these became my official debut pieces of Europe!

Hope you enjoy and thanks again to AD Birthe!
