Kotra GMV 2018 Art Collaboration Exhibition & NYT Business

I had a pleasure to exhibit my Alcalde magazine and some NYT Business section works for the Kotra’s GMV 2018 art collaboration exhibition from Oct 10 ~ 12th 2018 at YangJae AT center in Seoul.

GMV is a Global Mobile Vision Conference and one of the largest international fairs in ICT industry in Asia. They invited domestic and global software/solution players and hold a forum that will present the hottest and most up to date global IT trends.

So, Kotra thought that my Alcalde magazine cover and the opener is PERFECT to exhibit for the exhibition! It was my great honor to be invited with other amazing artists and companies.

Hope you enjoy the exhibition photos!

Last year, I was asked for doing a cover art for the NYT Travel section, but it was cancelled at the last minute because of the hurricane in the US… I was so sad, but have been waited for another assignment.

This year, AD Minh Uong asked me to draw one illustration for the workologist section, so here you can see the art! Link

Hope you enjoy! 🙂

Finally the semester was over, and I came back to the Gowanus studio that I shared with Sara Varon and Aaron Meshon last year!

My students did amazing jobs and I posted some images on my instagram – @jroillo

It’s been a year and can’t believe I was away from New York that loooong!

The 14 hours flight was not a hard thing anymore, and I even enjoyed the time. 🙂

I can only stay here for three weeks, but have lots of things to do including illustrating one of the Goosebumps series for a Korean version.

I’m glad I came back to the full time illustrator for the summer, and will bring lots of good stuff for my students for next semester!

So here’s the editorial illustrations that I haven’t been posted.

Dear Jorge

OMG… please forgive me for long time no blogging… but I know you understood! 🙂

After having an amazing time in New York, I returned to my motherland shortly, and my entire family and I went to Singapore for a vacation! Singapore was so beautiful city that I definitely want to revisit in the near future, and we went to a resort in Indonesia as well! – So the entire summer of 2016 was completely successful!!!

But I gotta come back to the reality, and when the wind whispered ” It’s already fall!” – I woke up from the long summer dreams and realized it’s time to make money for living & next vacation!

So here what I did from the rest of the summer.

Ray Ban Soho NYC store, IPCNY and more!

I love winter! but I love summer more maybe because it’s hot and I drew three big beach scenes so far for various clients!  I’ve been wearing Ray Ban sunglasses all my life, and couldn’t enjoy more when I created this fun Justin + Erika project! Thanks to AD Bastien + Marjorie and Publicis Paris agency!

Ray Ban’s fabulous hub in Soho at 116 Wooster st. was finally opened in the middle of November 2015, so if you were in New York area, don’t miss to wander throughout Ray-Ban’s hub! ( and check out my work there too!)
